Spanish translation

Updated at 2019-08-10 21:48:16 UTC

Hi

I bought a netro Sprite controller and have been using the app for a couple of weeks now. I find the Spanish translation quite bad. Looks like a direct Google translation.

I can help you in the translation if you want. Feel free to ask me for help if you want.

I would also love to be able to integrate netro with Google home. Currently I can't find it in my Google home app because of the lack of Spanish translation. I can help you with that if you want.

Apart from the Spanish translation problems, I think you have a great app and devices. Congratulations!

Unexpected smart schedule

Tony D.
Updated at 2019-08-12 09:35:56 UTC

Hi,

I set up a sprite connected to a whisperer. In the smart scheduling I see that my two zones would be watered in the following way the next day:

- zone 1: 6:00 16 min.

- zone 2: 6:17 15 min.

- zone 1: 6:46 16 min.

- zone 2: 7:02: 15 min.

I have 1 minute delay between each watering.

What I see the next morning is only the first two waterings made but not the second. Specifically:

- zone 1: 6:00 16 min.

- zone 2: 6:17 15 min.

I'm worried that my lawn is missing water since these days we are having the hottest days of summer (41 Celsius).

My whisperer now (11:23 AM august 12th) reads 0 lux, 23 C, 89% topsoil and 72% subsoil for zone 1 and 70% for zone 2. The whisperer is connected both to zone 1 and zone 2 so I don't know why I get different subsoil readings.

Immediately below I see "Moisture" "All day" both for zone 1 and zone 2. Could you please explain this behavior?

It would be nice if you could provide a blog post with all combinations of possibilities and related meanings.

UPDATE

In the web application I have found "User" in the restriction column searching. In the iOS app the only restriction I found to be activated could be the "Moisture to skip watering" in the watering adjustment for the whisperer sensor which is set to 80%.

Thank you in advance,

Tony

One day restriction

My street is being paved one day next week.  I was told not to water my front lawn on that date.  The closest thing that the Netro app can do is restrict watering every day starting on that date.  There doesn’t seem to be a way of not watering on a specific date.

Zones run at the same time

Rich Christenson
Updated at 2019-08-15 11:05:09 UTC

When I started running a scheduled daily program in conjunction with smart watering selected, for some reason zones will run at the same time.

Am I doing something wrong?  I have a one minute delay in my zones and when I didn’t have the program running the zones would run independently.

When I open the app while the two zones are running, it only displays one zone running.  I’m super confused.

Zones Shut Off But Show Running in App

Kirk Davis
Updated at 2019-08-16 02:54:33 UTC

Having a problem since upgrade of the app. Doesn't seem possible unless the main unit updated as well. Valves close within a few minutes of being activated by manual start, or programmed schedule. Have not test with smart watering disabled, but it happens on manual starts, so not sure that is even a variable. The Zone still shows as actively watering in the application. If you submit a stop  action by pressing the red square, then restart, via the sideways triangle, the zone will come back on again. However, it shortly shuts back off, while still showing the zone as being actively watered. This is happening across all four of my zones. Curiously, if you unplug the controller after the valve shuts off, but the app still shows it watering, wait a bit, and then plugit back int-the zone comes backon shortly after reboot.

I have searched the Netro skill in the Italian Amazon market but wasn’t able to find it.

What do I need to search for?

Would it be possible to publish your API? I (and I'm guessing many others) would like to be able to integrate Netro into tools like Home Assistant

Why water twice a day?

My 2nd watering cycle on even numbered days is during the highest heat of the day and it’s burning my shrubs in zone 4.  Why not once a day in evening hours for good soaking?

Internet connection problems

I have had a lot of trouble with losing netro's connection with internet. My old router failed so I replaced it with an expensive mesh wifi system which provides wonderful service to everything I have tried to connect except my Netro! I have now discovered that it will not work with anything but 2.4 GHz wifi. The new wifi does not provide 2.4 connection. Is there a workaround for this? Or do I have to throw out my new state-of-the-art $400 5 GHz wifi to get my somewhat obsolete $100 Netro to work?

Smart watering once a week?

Andrea D.
Updated at 2019-08-22 05:51:16 UTC

Hello there,

I'm new to netro and I tried to setup smart watering but the data I provided it will do it just once a week.

How is it possible? Is it safe to water just once a week?

Weather Provider

Can you please explain to me the big difference of the next watering days using different weather providers? As you can see in my print screens the data of temperature and humidity are nearly the same. With one provider next watering cycle will be in 2 days and with another in 11 days.

Thank you for your comments

Regards

How does a whisper sensor work with a drip system?

L F
Updated at 2019-08-25 23:46:33 UTC
I have a couple whisper sensors monitoring my lawn and drip system.   I understand how they can monitor the soil in my lawn but I’m wonder how the whisper works on my drip system as it doesn’t see the moisture that’s added to the soil(the emitter isolates the water to the plant) or the rate the plants use it like the one in the lawn does.  I’m assuming it’s just estimating like the Netro would on it’s own.  Is there much value to using a whisper on a drip zone?
