Scheduled Runs not turning on but app shows they ran

Dear customer,


Please check the wires. Are they loose or disconnected from the slots? Please also check the common wires and the master valve if you have one. If you believe the wires are correctly installed,  please check if there is a main valve/faucet that is turned off manually. 


To test if the controller is working properly, use a multimeter (AC voltage mode) to test the voltage between the common wire and the zone wire when the zone is active. Normally the voltage should be between 24V and 28V.

You might also want to check whether there are shorted zones or open zones. You just need to use a multimeter to measure the resistance between the common wire and each zone (remove the wires from the slots before testing the resistance). The normal reading would be 20-60 Ohms. If the reading is less than 10 Ohms then you might have a shorted circuit in the solenoid and if it is larger than 80 Ohms you might have an open circuit.

One of my zones isn't smart watering

Hi Mitch,


The smart watering level of one of your zones is level basic so there are not smart waterings for this certain zones. Please go to Settings->Zones->Smart Zone to check. For basic level, no smart schedule will be generated. You will need to add programs manually (go to Settings->Programs to add programs). Netro calculates the smart schedules also based on the soil type. We noticed some of your zones are watered multiple times a day, this is because you selected clay soil as your soil type which accepts water slowly, often as little as 1/4 inch per hour and that is why we break the watering into many pieces to avoid water runoff.

Dear Zee, 


The irrigation amount (CCF) is just an estimation. Netro knows how much time your garden has been watered, but doesn't know how large is your area. By default, Netro set the zone area as 1000 square feet, which could be much higher. If you want accurate estimation, please update the zone area in settings -> zones -> area

Hi Carey,

Could you try to insert the sensor again and make sure the soil around it is tight enough. If there is large gap between the soil and sensor, the ai between them could generate large noise.If the problem still remains, please send us email to support@netrohome.com with your Netro account registered email.


For the run off issue,  you can add reset time between zones through Settings->Prefrences->Schedulling->Rest time. Please let us know if it works.

Dear customer,


Netro will skip the schedules(including manual schedules from user programs) when there is a chance of significant rain(>0.2inch which is 5.08mm). The rain data is very small from this screenshot and it did not skip your smart watering. 


Besides, we take the forecasted precipitation and multiply it by the probability of rain. If the result is 0.2 inches or higher, than we will cancel watering schedules. For example, if rainfall is 0.2 inches but probability is 50%, then 0.2*.5 = .1, 0.1 is less than 0.2, so the watering will go as scheduled. But if rainfall is 0.4 inches with 50%, then the Smart Zone will cancel the watering schedule for that day.

Netro support three weather providers, which you can choose in settings->controller->weather provider. The default one is DarkSky which is usually the best of three. But you can try others to check if it is more accurate.

How is soil moisture in app calculated?

Hi Mitch,

Currently the soil moisture is 100%. I think previously Netro has not updated the soil moisture level because the sever side gets and updates weather information every early morning at 4 am. The moisture level is determined by a lot of environmental parameter, weather forecast, soil light, sunlight, plant type and other factors. Sorry we accidentally deleted the previous reply and please let us know if you have any further questions.
