If you turn off the smart zone feature, the rain delay feature is also disabled so you cannot have the app cancel programs if it rains more than 5mm.

Manual Mode not working

Hi Gary,


Does the app says the Netro controller is watering but it is not opening the valves? 


Please check the wires. Are they loose or disconnected from the slots? Please also check the common wires and the master valve if you have one. If you believe the wires are correctly installed,  please check if there is a main valve/faucet that is turned off manually. 

To test if the controller is working properly, use a multimeter (AC voltage mode) to test the voltage between the common wire and the zone wire when the zone is active. Normally the voltage should be between 24V and 28V.

You might also want to check whether there are shorted zones or open zones. You just need to use a multimeter to measure the resistance between the common wire and each zone (remove the wires from the slots before testing the resistance). The normal reading would be 20-60 Ohms. If the reading is less than 10 Ohms then you might have a shorted circuit in the solenoid and if it is larger than 80 Ohms you might have an open circuit.

Hi Omer,


To reset the sensor to host mode, you will need to press the button 5-6 times to reset the sensor:

1. Press the power button once to turn on the sensor. If the sensor is already on, turn it off first by pressing the power button once.
2. Turn the sensor off quickly (in 1.5 seconds) before the LED light changes its color from white 
3. Press the button to turn on the sensor. Turn the sensor off quickly (in 1.5 seconds) before the LED light changes its color from yellow 
4. Press the button again to turn on the sensor. The LED should start to blink in white color.

The white LED light cannot be turn off.  If the light do bother you, you may cover it with dark tape.

Please try leave the sensor under direct sunlight for several more days. 
If you have traditional incandescent bulb lamp, you can also put the sensor solar panel closely under the incandescent bulb for severl days. 

Please let us know if the sensor still not get charged after a week.

Dear customer,

Netro gets weather forecast data from our weather provider, which could be not accurate enough, as weather forecasting is challenging.
If it is not correct, you can select other weather provider in settings->weather provider, you can also select the weather station ID with the Wunderground option.
With incorrect weather data, Netro’s smart algorithm could be not optima.
you can also adjust the rain data through Discover page->"+" button on the upper right corner-> Correct rainfall.

Yes the main valve will only open when the irrigation system calls for water. You can get a master valve and connect it to the "M" slot of Netro controller. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Discover and weather accuracy

The issue is that the weather report may not be that accurate. If you want try other weather report, please go settings->weather provider. You can switch to other weather providers to see if it works better. 

You can adjust the rain data through Discover page->"+" button on the upper right corner-> Correct rainfall. You could also customized the weather restrictions, like I want to skip the schedules on the day after tomorrow as well, or I want to skip if rain more than 0.1 inch. The setting is in "setting -> preferences -> rain".

Of course, all weather forecast could be wrong. Netro tries the best to provide accurate watering schedule even with incorrect forecast. First, we periodically update the weather data, once the weather data is changed, we update the un-executed schedules ASAP. Second, we re-check the weather data for the past, update our model, and adjust following schedules accordingly.

Rescheduling the watering schedule

Dear customer,


You can adjust smart watering through Settings->zones->specific zone number->smart zone-enabled->Mode. You can choose "customized" mode to adjust watering by providing the preferred moisture level and flow rate of your sprinklers. (you will see the estimated water time after adjusting the percentage)


If you do not want smart zone schedule to override your own programmed schedule, you can set up the Smart Zone level from Advanced to Basic, which only skip rainning days for your programmed schedule.

Dear Rosario,

If you enable the smart zone feature and set Smart watering Level as "advanced",  your zones will be watered automatically by Netro with smart schedules. Netro will not water your zones automatically if your smart zone feature is disabled. Please go to Settings->Zones->Smart Zone to check.

If you turn on the smart zone feature, Netro will skip the schedules(including manual schedules from user programs) when there is a chance of significant rain.


If Netro did not water according to your own programs, could you please send us email to support@netrohome.com with your Netro account registered email?
We will have our technician look into this issue.

Netro's algorithm encourages longer water time and less water frequency, which will help growth of the roots.
