Yes, but surely if it becomes even partly opaque it therefore can't charge as efficiently as if the film is clear, nor can it give an accurate measure of the amount of light reaching the plants even if they are still working? It therefore is not just cosmetic degradation as the responder asserts. The plastic coating is therefore not fit for purpose, surely.
