To the best of my knowledge the Netro base unit will continue all personally scheduled waterings without an internet connection as long as it has power. Obviously rain delays or adhoc smart watering services will be unavailable. I do remember reading something regarding a direct Wi-Fi connection to your netro with a smartphone if you need to make adjustments etc.
