I just got a Whisperer 2 and it won’t charge past 90%. It’s been plugged in all day. Is the battery defective?

Skip watering based on soil moisture (Pixie + Whisperer)

cpline
Actualizado 2026-02-02 17:04:38 UTC
Hello! I would like to set up my system to skip watering if soil moisture reads above a certain threshold. I have the Whisperer and the Pixie, so would like the Whisperer to communicate with the Pixie, so the Pixie skips watering if soil moisture is high enough. Is this possible? Thanks for your help.

Watering timing conflict in app

Will
Actualizado 2026-02-05 21:55:34 UTC
The whisperer sensor combined with the app seems confused. The app tells me to water every day however the sensor tells me a date on when to water next that is usually 8+ days later.

The app doesn’t seem to talk to itself as far as the reminders are concerned.

Feature Request

Actualizado 2026-02-10 05:56:14 UTC

Is there a way to give info to the app to dial in the soil moisture level?   I would like to measure soil moisture and input the info to my controller and the controller should adjust watering schedule. How about reminding user to check moisture level once in a while and input the info. Is this a thing?

Thanks!

John

Supported Hardware

Is there a version of the app that runs on a Windows PC or a Raspberry Pi?

I run all my home automation on a dedicated Raspberry Pi so it would be nice to keep everything in one place.

Hi I bought and installed a Netro Sprite6 watering controller about a year ago. Would really appreciate having notifications enabled for all watering activities. I had a good look through the app features and can’t find anyway to enable it. Could someone help please?

New whisperer

Jean Paul Lasserre
Actualizado 2026-03-03 08:20:29 UTC

Bought a new whisperer as an old one is no longer working.

REMARK : WHILE I LIVE IN A TEMPERATE AREA NONE OF MY WHISPERERS LASTS MORE THAN 26 MONTHS WHICH IS SURPRISING AS IT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A CONSUMABLE.

Clicked as required first blinking blue light then blinking white light.

Went to sensors and see the dead old one, the working one but do not see the newly bought one.

Do not see either a + sign to add a new one.

What should I do ?

Valve finder - feature request

Monkeyzu
Actualizado 2026-03-12 08:20:45 UTC

Hi,

Any chance of adding a valve/solenoid finder feature? This would work similar to products like Chatterbox. The selected station for valve finding would switch the valve on and off quickly so that the rattle/chatter sound it makes can be used to find it. The main valve could be left closed.

Thanks

Soil type?

John Broadbent
Actualizado 2018-06-16 14:27:36 UTC
The app has a number of soil choices- I don’t know which to choose. I assume different soil has different water retention. Is there a list which shows how much water the different soil types require?  Or is there a way to tell which soil you have?

Two locations

Robert Garlick
Actualizado 2018-06-22 13:31:35 UTC

I have a system working in Florida and I just wanted to do the same thing in Kansas and I bought it and I have wired it but I haven't plugged it in because I don't know how I'm going to control each different location and I'm afraid something might go wrong and I won't be able to water in Florida.

So how do I control each separate location with the same phone?

Scheduling

Richard Hall
Actualizado 2018-07-09 15:56:46 UTC

i’ve had the controller installed for almost 2months now and it works fine. I like the idea that it seems to know how much to water and keep the lawn  green. However I have pets who use the backyard and would like the watering to be between 9 pm and 5 am.  I think the system can be setup for manual watering times BUT that defeats getting an expensive smart system to replace a low end rainbird system.

Is there anyway to set up time constraints on the system and still run on automatic,

Also lack of a manual and good instruction is a pain.

Smart zone watering some zones multiple times

Jason Warren
Actualizado 2018-07-10 11:29:26 UTC

I have eight zones with smart watering enabled for all zones. I noticed this morning when looking at scheduling that a few of the zones will water multiple times in the same morning. For example, Zone one will water for 4 minutes, Zone 2, Zone 3 excetera. Then it goes back to Zone 1 for 3 minutes, and maybe zone for for 7 minutes. Is this normal?

I have inserted a screen shot.Notice the zone, "house left."
