Whisperer sensor winter storage

Hi Brain,


Generally you can leave the sensor outside in the winter. However, if the temperature goes below 0°F(-18°C ), you should consider taking the sensor inside. Please turn off the sensor before storing it. To turn off the sensor:
1. If the sensor is powered on (the light is on), press the button once to turn it off
2. If the sensor is sleeping (it will wake up repeating to report data), press the button once to manually wake it up, wait for  2-10 seconds, press the button again to turn it off. 
3. After that, the sensor will stay off and will not wake up repeating to report data


If you place the sensor in a place without any sunlight, after a few months you might need to charge the sensor for a few days before it can turn on.

Weird watering plan

Hi Manuel,

Netro currently doesn't support the feature to treated multiple zones as the same physical area and water them exactly the same, which we may support later.  As your zones have the same configurations, Netro's smart schedules should be almost identical for all zones. It's different now because you might manually water some zones before with different time, so each zone have different estimated moisture level. But it is totally fine to water zones in different days. We make sure the moisture level in the a reasonable range for all zones.

1. When any of the zone is watering, the slot M will power on the pump. When none of the zones is watering, the pump will be turned off. This is automatic.
 
2. If the pump is 110V, you will need to add a 24VAC relay. Connect the 24VAC control signal to Netro and you should be good to go.

No, Netro will not water your yard during winter. However, winterization requires shutting off the main valve and blowing out the water, which is beyond the capability of Netro Sprite. Unexpected smart schedule

Dear Tony, 


Netro's smart schedules are dynamic. All smart schedules in the future could be adjusted if new events happen, for example, weather forecast data updates, new whisperer sensor data. Therefore, it's possible that the smart schedules you saw today will be updated tomorrow. For your specific case, two of your smart schedules on 12th could be skipped due to high moisture level reported by your whisperer sensor. As you mentioned, by default if the moisture level reported by Whisperer sensor is above 80%,  smart schedules will be skipped. You can update the threshold to higher or lower value if you need.

sprite losing connection

If the controller lost connection, in most cases you do not need to reset the router. Simply reboot the controller (unplug power and replug in) and it will reconnect.

Low pressure in zones

Can you use a "working" zone to control the low pressure station. If the problem remains I would suggest checking the valve.


Another way to troubleshoot: To test if the controller is working properly, use a multimeter (AC voltage mode) to test the voltage between the common wire and the zone wire when the zone is active. Normally the voltage should be between 24V and 28V.

Controller consistently goes offline

Dear Kyle,


Was there a power outage before the disconnection? There is a known bug in the current firmware that after a power outage, if the router boots up too slowly, the controller cannot be manually controlled and the app shows offline(regular program and smart schedules will still run). This will be fixed in the next firmware release in a few weeks.

Forecast provider for Italy

We have not supported METEO.it and The Weather Channel yet. But we are going to support weather underground PWS https://www.wunderground.com/, which should be similar with The Weather Channel,  as both owned by IBM. 

Weather providers have their own data source and modeling method, so their data could be different. That's why we support multiple weather providers, such that customers can select the one works best in their area. If my guess is correct, the last picture is for Darksk. The first two have 0/0 for Lun because the other two weather providers do not support 1-week forecast data, which is fine as we fetch weather data and update your watering schedules everyday.

Difficulty connecting to Google WiFi

Sprite works with Google WiFi. Please check the SSID and password and see if they contain special symbols. You might also want to try a guest network.
